6 Members of Erfan Halgheh Sued IRIB Over Publishing Disinformation

HRANA News Agency – Six members of Erfan Halgheh, attended the court of culture and media, and sued IRIB for broadcasting a documentary called “Ring of Satan” because of spreading lies.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), six members of Erfan Halgheh attended the fourth branch of the court of culture and the media, with their complaints under the title of; “spreading lies and disturbing public opinion by broadcasting a documentary, called; Halgheh Sheitan (Ring of Satan) and publishing materials including violating honour or dignity” against the IRIB.

Mr. Ali Molai, Mina Amir-Moezzi, Zahra Sadat Ebrahimi, Akram Darvishi, Zahra Shafiei and Melika Kavandi requested “the indictment and investigation of violations by the IRIB”, and stressed that recently IRIB channels have been broadcasting a program named “Ring of Satan”, repeatedly, the documentary which is about Erfan Halgheh and its founder, Mohammad Ali Taheri. This information which has been showed as documentary, are all falsehood and slander and desecration of the Erfan Halgheh and thus to the destruction of the members and followers, as well as publishing lies even on authoritative Iranian-Islamic websites.”

Complainants pointed to various legal provisions, including Article 188 and Article 697 of the penal and Article 23 of the Press Law, and asked for an investigation into violations by IRIB.
