2 Members Of A Music Band Waiting For Their Trial
HRANA News Agency – The IRGC intelligence agents have detained two members of a metal music band for three months. Nikan Khosravi and Arash Ilkhani, two members of “confess” group were arrested on November 10, 2015 and have been released on the 100 million thomans bail on February 5, 2016 after almost 3 months under interrogation in solitary confinement in ward 2-A of Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), members of the group have faced charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “blasphemy” due to their artistic activities.
The charges also apply to activities such as “forming an illegal underground music and recording and playing Satanism in the style of rock and metal music”, “writing anti-religious and atheistic political and anarchist poems”, and “interviews with foreign radios”.
Nikan Khosravi is 23 years old and musician and singer and Arash Ilkhani is 21 years old and DJ of the band.They are waiting for the date of their trial.
Their latest album called “Dar Taghib Roya” means “In Pursuit of Dreams” was published shortly before their detention.
Security and judicial officials has accused the unfamiliar new music in Iranian society of promoting Satanism.
