HRANA News Agency – 3 political prisoner of Evin prison, Mahmood Beheshti, Maisam Mohammadi and Amir Nozar Noripour were sent to furlough.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), by the agreement of judicial and prison authorities with the Nowruz furlough of the number of political prisoners in Evin Prison, 3 other prisoners were released from the prison. It is said that there is the possibility of an increase in the number of the prisoners who would go on Nowruz furlough.
Remarkably, 5 political prisoners of Evin Prison named Ali Hashemi, Hadi Haidari, Keyvan Mehregan, Mostafa Tajzadeh and Mostafa Azizi had been released for Nowruz furlough before these 3 prisoner.
Mahmood Beheshti Langeroodi, former spokesman of the Teachers Union had been sent to a furlough after a 21-day hunger strike on Thursday, January 14, 2016 but his request for an extension of the leave was denied by the authorities and then he returned to Evin prison.
He was sentenced to 9 years in prison more than two years ago by branch number 15 of the revolutionary court presided by Judge Salvati.
Mr. Beheshti’s verdict was announced in 2013 and at the same time he posted on his Facebook profile: “Mr. Salvati issued my verdict. Four years in prison on charges of gathering and colluding against thr national security, one year in prison on charge of propaganda against the regime.”
He added: “by counting four years of suspended sentence, it is 9 years in prison, so easily.”
Meysam Mohammadi, employee of Beheshti Foundation, was arrested following the attack of intelligence agents to Beheshti Foundation and was released after two months. He was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment and five years of deprivation from membership in political parties and groups and media activities by the verdict of the revolutionary court and by the reference to Article 610 of the Islamic Penal Code.
