3 priests were tried in Karaj

HRANA News Agency – The trial of three priests of the Church of Iran who have been jailed, was held on Tuesday, September 30th.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on Tuesday, 30th September, the trial of Behnamh Irani, Syed Abdolreza Alinejad and Raza Rabbani was held in the branch of Revolutionary Court, in Karaj.

These three priests were accused with; “enmity and corruption on earth” in the interrogation phase, but on the trail, this accusation was removed and they were charged with “acting against national security and forming groups to overthrow the regime”.

This hearing took place in branch 1 of the revolutionary court of Karaj presided by Judge Asef Alhosseini, and the trial was postponed to next meetings.

These three priests of Church of Iran are all new “Christian converts” and are detained in Karaj Central prison.

At the moment, Abdolreza Alinejad, detained on 18th August 2011, is held in Karaj Central prison, also, Behnam Irani who has sentenced to  5 years imprisonment and one year suspended imprisonment, is held there, too.
