HRANA News Agency – Prison Authorities took 1,200,000 Tomans from Abdolreza Ghanbari to transfer him.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Abdolreza Ghanbari, a Farsi literature teacher at one of the schools in Pakdasht, a university lecturer and one of the detainees of 2009 – Ashora has been transferred to Ward 12 of Karaj Rajaee Shahr Prison after spending 9 months in exile at Borazjan Prison.
A close relative of him told HRANA reporter: “Although his transfer order arrived couple of months ago, prison authorities prevented his transfer until last Thursday and finally conditioned his transfer to pay 1,200,000 Toman. His family paid this amount before his transfer.”
He also added: “on the flight, he was hand and foot cuffed and he wasn’t even permitted to go to the toilet. Foot cuffing passengers is against international flights laws and regulations.”
He also mentioned: “Mr Ghanbari was kept at Rajaee Shahr Prison Quarantine section for two days and finally he was admitted to the ward on Saturday.”
It is important to note that Abdolreza Ghanbari, one of the detainees of 28 December, 2009 ( Ashora), a Farsi literature teacher at one of Pakdasht schools and a university lecturer was prosecuted on the charge of “ waging war against god” at branch 15 of Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court and was sentenced to death by judge “ Salavati”. On January 2013 this verdict was discharged by the Supreme Court and his case was sent to Branch 1 at Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court where his sentence reduced to 15 years imprisonment.
On 8 December 2013, he was exiled to Borazjan Prison from war 350 of Evin Prison.
