HRANA News Agency – Fakhredin Faraji, political prisoner in Tabas prison, who had been transferred to hospital for lumbar disc surgery, was returned to prison without operation.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on Monday 26th January, Fakhredin Faraji, political prisoner in Tabas was transferred to a hospital in Birjand city for lumbar disc surgery.
This political prisoner was returned on Wednesday to Tabas prison without operation.
An informed source in this regard told HRANA’s reporter, “The prison authorities refused to pay the costs of the operation for Mr. Faraji which was estimated over 6 million Tomans, which is why he has been returned to the prison. The fact is that all prisoners are covered by health insurance and asking for medical costs from them is against the rules.”
He added, “Mr Faraji has applied for medical leave that if be accepted then he will follow his treatment process, out of prison.”
Fakhredin Faraji, who was arrested along with 3 others on 6th June 2011, near Shoveisheh village of Sanandaj, and on charge of acting against national security and membership in a Kurdish party, was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment and exile to Tabas prison.
It is to say, Fakhredin Faraji has been transferred to Tabas prison from 4 years ago and now he is in this prison along with another political prisoner, Mohammah Amin Abdullahi.
