Saeid Matinpoor Released after 7 Years of Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – Saeid Matinpoor, political prison in ward 7 of Evin prison was released by applying Article 134 and ending his sentence.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Saeid Matinpoor was released from ward 7 of Evin prison on 26th August, after applying Article 134 and ending his sentence.
According to HRANA’s sources, Homayun Rostaei, other prisoner of ward 7, and former Iranian embassy member in Russia and Thailand, was also released on parole.
Saeid Matinpoor, civil activist and philosophy graduate of Tehran University, was arrested on 25th May 2009 with charges of propaganda against the regime and communicating with foreigners, and had been sentenced to 8 years imprisonment by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Salvati.
This journalist is a member of the editorial board of the weekly magazine “Yarpagh” and “Moje Bidari” and also worked with the local newspaper of Azerbaijan.
