HRANA News Agency – Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, labor activist and political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison, was summoned to the security office of Rajai Shahr prison and was interrogated in connection with one of the prison’s manager’s complain.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), political prisoner and labor activist, Behnam Ebrahimzadeh was summoned to the security office of Rajai Shahr prison following the complaint, made by “Amirian”, one of the prison’s coordinators and was interrogated by someone called “Mozare”.
The subject of the interrogation of this detained labor activist was the complaint made by Amirian against him regarding insulting him as a prison officer during an inspection. This allegation was rejected by Behnam Ebrahimzadeh. The inspection was conducted on 14th August this year.
This is to say, Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, who recently has been sentenced, by a new definite verdict, to seven years and ten months and eighteen days, is held in hall 5 of ward 2 in Rajai Shahr prison, known as “Dar al Quran” with dangerous prisoners.
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, who has been held in prison for more than 5 years, following a retrial in December last year and in the first instance, was sentenced to another 9 and a half years imprisonment. This political prisoner’s court verdict was reduced to 7 years and 10 months and 18 days, after being revised and finalized and was notified to him in Rajai Shahr prison.
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh is one of the well-known labor and children’s rights activists. He has been held in prison since 2010 and was initially sentenced to 20 years imprisonment but his sentence was reduced on appeal to five years imprisonment.
