HRANA News Agency – The family of political prisoner, Ali Asghar Mahmoudian and himself, are trying to get forgiveness for his imprisonment fine, which has been considered due to his medical leave, by writing and contacting judicial institutions.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ali Asghar Mahmoudian, political prisoner, has been considered to be given a penalty charge of four to six months to compensate for the time taken for his medical leave. He and his family are trying to correspondence with the different judicial bodies to get a pardon for the fine so that the authorities would release this ill political prisoner from prison.
An informed source in this regard, noting that the security agencies and the judiciary officials were aware of Ali Asghar Mahmoudian’s condition, during all his treatment leave, said: “Most of his diseases and problems that he has been suffering from, before or during his imprisoned time have occurred, and some of them had been treated during the medical leave, have returned and this prisoner suffers from poor health condition and diseases.”
This source also saying that Ali Asghar Mahmoudian is enduring his imprisonment along with political detainees in the prison of Semnan, emphasized that Mr. Mahmoudian and his family are demanding the judiciary system to forgive this issue and release this political prisoner.
Earlier, one of Ali Asghar Mahmoudian’s relatives, regarding the period of treatment leave, had said that “We followed the process under Mr. Khodabakhshi and medical forensic of judiciary’s supervision, and he was in contact with Mr. Khodabakhshi during the time that he was out of prison, and Mr. Khodabakhshi would have told him that had to go back and his treatment was taking time. However, considering that they believe Mr. Mahmoudian was getting therapy and the process of his treatment, this issue took a bit of time and as he was in the middle of his therapy, he could not return back to prison.”
It should be noted that Ali Asghar Mahmoudian has no good physical conditions to be able to endure his imprisonment in Semnan prison.
Aliasghar Mahmoodian was arrested in the fall of 2009 and was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment and exile by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran on charges of combat through supporting People’s Mojahedin Organization.
It is to say, combat charges is one of the substances of the Penal Code Act 1392 (2013), that was amended and according to the legal principle that is accepted by Iran and the International law, his sentence should be changed.
Semnan prison is an old inn that has been converted into prison without proper facilities, high population density, murder, addiction and sexual assault have been reported many times in this prison and use of drugs by most of the prisoners had put Mahmoodian once on the brink of death.
