Hamid Khosh Seyr Released From Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Hamid Khosh Seyr, one of the defendants of the case known as “Imam Naghi campaign” and imprisoned in ward 7 of Evin prison, was sent on a five-day furlough that leads to his freedom at the end of his sentence.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), it had been announced earlier, that 8th February is the date for him to be released.
It should be noted that, Mr.  Khosh Seyr since about four months ago has been facing illegal and punitive sanctions for refusing to participate in the morning assembly, which was due to a medical condition, and this limitations and exclusions were applied by the ward manager.
It is to say that the prison authorities took his bed and banned his commute, as he did not participate in the morning assembly in the prison. This prisoner had said that because of medical problems he was not able to attend the prison morning assembly.
Earlier also his mother in an interview with HRANA with referring to the medical limitations and exclusions of this prisoner had said that “I sent my son to prison healthy and I want my son back safe to me.”
Hamid Khosh Seyr, one of the inmates of “Imam Naghi campaign” was arrested at six in the morning at his father’s house by the security forces on suspicion of involvement in “Reminder campaign on the Shia’s Imam Naghi” and issues related to it, on 20th June 2013. He denied the charges and said he had no role in this matter and no evidences have been provided in this regard.
This prisoner has been held in ward 209 of Evin prison after that, for more than four months in detention, and finally was released on the bail until the final decision. It should be noted that he had been held in solitary confinement for one month during that time.
Finally, his case was investigated by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Pir Abbasi and he was sentenced to two years imprisonment. That sentence was confirmed, by the Appeals Court of Tehran Province.
Hamid Khosh Seyr went to Evin prison to serve his sentence on 29th June 2014.
Reminding Imam Naghi to Shias campaign was a joke and humor page on the history of Islam, especially Shia ninth Imam, Imam Naghi, which had a lot of fans, and officials of the Islamic Republic accused this page and its writers of blasphemy.
