Father of Political Prisoner on Hunger Strike Detained

HRANA- The father of one of the seventeen political prisoners from ward 350 of Evin Prison on hunger strike has been detained. Ali Parviz’s father was arrested this morning.

Kalame reports, that Ali Parviz’s father was detained at the judiciary where he was delivering a letter on behalf of the families of the political prisoners on hunger strike.

Ali Parviz was arrested on November 3, 2009 during a raid at his residence by state security forces. He was kept in solitary confinement for long periods of time where he was subjected to consistent interrogations. He was sentenced to three years in prison by Judge Maghiseh of the 28th Branch of the lower court for “acting against national security” and “insulting the president”. Before being arrested Ali Parviz was attending Khajeh Nasir University where he was studying to become a computer engineer.
