According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in the wake of the on-going persecution and restrictions on political prisoners of Rajaee Shahr prison in Karaj, at least ten prisoners were deprived of going to the clinic due to refusing to wear prison slippers.
A source close to the political prisoners of Rajaee Shahr prison in Karaj in an interview with HRANA’s reporters said: “In addition to depriving the ill political prisoners of going to the clinic due to wearing shoes or slippers except the formal slippers of prison, many of the prisoners failed to visit their families on June 16.”
It is worth noting that political prisoners who wanted to meet their families, attended the hall with barefoot as a sign of protest, in the wake of the on-going persecution by the prison security officials to adopt disrespectful and uncommon manners of body searches of prisoners and their families as well as prohibition of the use of shoes by political prisoners. The protest of prisoners led to delays in weekly visits on June 8.
