HRANA News Agency – On July 12, Shima Babai, civil rights activist who is free on the bail until her trial was summoned to “the office of the ministry of intelligence” to be there on Wednesday, July 13, by phone. The activist has been summoned for the fourth time after being released.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), on July 12, Shima Babai, civil rights activist who is free on the bail until her trial, was summoned to the ministry of intelligence for the fourth time after being released.
A close source to Ms. Babai told HRANA’s reporter: “Although she is free until her trial, but after being released the interrogations have continued and so far she has been summoned to the office by telephone for 4 times and has been interrogated.”
Ms. Babai was arrested by the IRGC forces in her house at 11:30 pm on May 25, and was transferred to ward 2-A in Evin prison.
The next day, she was transferred to the third branch of Shahid Moghadas court and was charged with propaganda against the regime and insulting the Supreme Leader by judge Hosseini. The charges which were denied by this activist.
The source also continued: “The charges against Ms. Babai were increasing in the days after the investigations.”
Shima Babai, civil rights activist, was released from ward 2-A in Evin prison on the bail on June 1st.
HRANA had previously reported that the security forces had investigated her house for two hours and all of the cell phones and personal accessories, including all of the electronic devices, books and leaflets were seized by them.
Need to be mentioned, Shima Babai’s father, Dr. Ibrahim (Nader) Babai Zeidi, was arrested during the protests to 2009 presidential elections, and by branch number 26 of the revolutionary court sentenced to 6 years and 9 months in prison. For this sentence, he served 5 years in Evin and Rajaei Shahr prisons.
