HRANA News Agency – By the order of Mohammad Mardani, head of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, anti-riot police of this prison, in an unusual inspection of some of the halls of ward 4, attempted to beat a large number of prisoners and destructed their properties. During the investigation which is said to be done in order to stop the reports of human rights violations from Rajai Shahr prison, TVs and even the walls of some of the cells were destroyed. There is no information about the fate of prisoners who have been beaten.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), about 100 anti-riot forces of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, under the pretext of inspection attempted to beat prisoners and destroy their properties.
This inspection was done several times by the orders of Mohammad Mardani, head of Rajai Shahr prison, as one of the halls was attacked two times and one of them was at 2 am.
According to HRANA’s reporters, the properties of the prisoners, including TVs and the walls of some of the cells have been destroyed in these inspections, despite these violent acts, there was no certain illegal thing found or seized by officers.
The inspection which was done along with beating the prisoners and even some sleeping prisoners, left numerous prisoners wounded but by the time of this report there is not information about the fate of these prisoners.
This is said that this non-routine inspection was done by the order of head of prison to stop the reporting of human rights abuses in the units under his management.
HRANA had recently released a report about illegal actions by Mohamed Mardani, the head of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj.
