HRANA News Agency – Prison authorities of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, have declared “suicide in solitary confinement”, as the cause of the death of a prisoner while, sources close to the prisoners insist that “he has been beaten and killed by a blow to the head” by the guard.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the death of Babak Zarei, a prisoner accused of murder in Rajae Shahr prison in Karaj has been declared with two different reasons.
Prison authorities of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, have declared “suicide in solitary confinement”, as the cause of the death of a prisoner while, sources close to the prisoners announced in an interview with HRANA’s reporter that he had been severely beaten by the guard named Sahraie and stressed that he had been killed by a blow to the head.
The sources told HRANA’s reporter, “Babak had been beaten by the guard on the night shift, Mr. Sahraie and he was beaten severely and was killed by a blow to the head. But prison officials announced that he committed suicide in solitary confinement because he had been humiliated.”
