HRANA News Agency – A prisoner was hanged after serving 18 years in the prison in Khomain.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Gholamhossain Baigi, a prisoner who had been charged with homicide, was executed after being kept in prison for 18 years, in Khomain prison in Markazi province, on Wednesday, November 23.

Mr. Baigi had surrendered himself to the police after two months of being fugitive for homicide of three people.

A close source to Baigi family told HRANA’s reporter about the long period of imprisonment, “Because the daughter of the victims was young, he was kept until she reached the legal age. Eventually, despite the efforts, one of the next of kin did not consent and the sentence was executed”.
