HRANA – The police commander of Shadgan announced the arrest of three citizens in the county over allegations of publishing content on social media with the intent to “disturb public opinion” and engage in “propaganda against the Islamic Republic.”

According to HRANA, citing IRNA, three citizens were arrested by police forces in Shadgan, Khuzestan province.

According to the report, following the publication of content on social media allegedly intended to “disturb public opinion, undermine public morale, and spread propaganda against the Islamic Republic,” Shadgan County’s Public Security and Intelligence Police initiated efforts to identify and arrest the individuals.

Rouhollah Ashiri, the police commander of Shadgan, stated that after being identified and with judicial authorization, the individuals were arrested by the Public Security and Intelligence Police and Shadgan Police Station No. 11.

He claimed that following their arrest and during interrogation, the individuals confessed to the alleged offenses and were subsequently referred to the judicial authorities for further legal proceedings.

The report did not disclose the identities of the detainees, their place of detention, or their current status.
