HRANA News Agency – The death sentences of 2 Arab activists from Ahwaz have been confirmed by the Supreme Court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ali Chabishat and Seyed Khaled Mousavi have been transferred from Defzul prison to an unknown location on March 18, 2014.
“The families of the 2 political prisoners have been informed that the death sentences were confirmed by the Supreme Court on May 1st.” Said Karim Dehimi, the human rights activist
“The intelligence agents are telling nothing about the situation of these 2 prisoners to their families and the families have not been able to visit them since March 18th.” He continued
Their lawyer had recently asked the revolutionary court and intelligence office of Ahwaz to visit his clients, however the request was rejected.
The branch 4 of the revolutionary court of Ahwaz sentenced Ali Chabishat and Seyed Khaled Mousavi to death and Salman Chayani to 25 years in prison.
They were charged with exploding the gas pipeline. Ali Chabishat is the owner of the land through which the pipeline is passing.
They have been arrested on November 11, 2012 by the intelligence office of Shush and were forced to make confessions after being under mental and physical torture for several months in the detention center of Ahwaz intelligence.
