Abdolreza Ghanbari transferred to Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – Abdolreza Ghanbari, political prisoner, who was a teacher, was transferred to war 12 of Rajai Shahr prison after 9-month exile in Boraz Jaan.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Farsi literature teacher in one of the Pakdasht schools, Abdolreza Ghanbari, a university professor, who was arrested during the Ashura in 2010 and was earlier charged with combat through relation with opposition groups by holding suspicious email accounts and contact with foreign medias, had been sentenced to execution by the Islamic Revolutionary Court, branch 15.
His death sentence was confirmed by appeal court of Branch 36, presided by Judge Zargar, and the verdict was sent to Law-enforcement office for execution.
In February 2011, Abdolreza Ghanbari’s pardon request was rejected, but in 2012 his death penalty was broken by the Supreme Court and in early 2013 during a trial his sentence was changed to 15 years imprisonment in exile in Boraz Jaan prison, in Boshehr.
Eventually, his sentence was declined to 10 years in prison without exile by Branch 54 of the Appeals Court.
It should be noted that Ghanbari was arrested at his teaching class in Pakdasht on 14th January 2010 and then he was transferred to Evin prison.
