Afshin Baymani Deprived Of Medical Treatment In Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Afshin Baymani, a political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison, who is in the sixteenth year of his imprisonment, despite continuous follow-up, and suffering from acute cardiac disease, is still deprived of furlouugh and treatment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Afshin Buymani in the sixteenth year of his imprisonment and despite suffering from acute cardiac disease, has been deprived of treatment and during all these years has been denied to be sent on leave or a hospital outside the prison.
Earlier it was reported that this political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison needed an open heart surgery.
The imprisonment term for Afshin Buymani, who is married and is the father of two children, in addition to serious health problems such as heart disease and kidney stones, has created numerous issues also for his wife and children.
The middle-aged prisoner, who was a young twenty-some year at the time of arrest, has not had the opportunity of regular visit with his wife and children during the last 15 years, due to the long distance.
Afshin Baymani, political prisoner in hall 12 of Rajai Shahr prison, was arrested on 5th September 2000 on charge of helping his brother “Mehdi Baymani”, who was associated with the “People’s Mojahedin Organization”, to escape and was sentenced to death, and the sentence was confirmed by the Court of Appeal, but after 6 years his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment.
