HRANA News Agency – Ali Moezzi, political prisoner of central prison of Karaj has transferred to solitary confinement since October 12. Besides, he has been deprived of having telephone call and visits.
According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ali Moezzi, only 6 months of whose sentence is left and suffering from incurable diseases, has been transferred to Evin prison for unknown reasons since October 12.
He has been deprived of having visits and phone call and the responses of authorities to his family was, “he is under interrogation and has been transferred to solitary confinement”.
This political prisoner who is suffering from Bladder Cancer and Kidney diseases, was under medical treatment before.
Ali Moezzi, who had been imprisoned in 80s, was arrested in autumn 2010 and sentenced to two certain years and three conditional years in prison. After two years and serving his sentence in Rajaei Shahr prison, again he was arrested in June 2010, for attending in a gathering, which was held in memorial of Ali Saremi, the executed political prisoner. Then, he was put into trial in absentia, on branch number 15 of revolutionary court and sentenced to one year in prison for advocacy of MEK, which meant he had to serve 4 years in prison.
This sentence will end in June 2015.
