HRANA News Agency – Arash Sadeghi was transferred to the hospital and was admitted there four days after ending his 72-day long protesting hunger strike. On the other hand, contrary to the promises, Prosecutor’s Office has rejected extending his wife’s furlough and she has been summoned to endure her imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activist News Agency in Iran (HRANA), after four days delay, Arash Sadeghi was transferred to the hospital and after endoscopy scan and the specialists’ approval, he was admitted at the hospital.
But unlike the promises of officials, the prosecutor refused to extend the furlough for Golrokh Irai and she was summoned to Evin Prison.
A close source to this couple told HRANA’s reporter: “Although, Mr. Hajilu, the prosecutor’s representative, had accepted the violation in the case of Mrs. Irai, and had promised that Mrs. Irai would stay on leave until her retrial, but this leave was not extended even for one single day, and Golrokh was summoned. It was kind of deception and the prosecutor is responsible for this breach of promise.”
HRANA had reported previously that the kidney and intestines tests’ results show that Arash Sadeghi’s kidneys have been damaged due to water shortage. According to the doctor, the right kidney won’t work in the future, as it was used to.
The intestine tests also indicate that he has got intestinal adhesion, and doctors said that if this condition would continue, there was a risk of bleeding.
According to the forensic report, after examining Arash Sadeghi, there is a risk of coma and even his death.
It should be noted, Arash Sadeghi who is held in Hall 10 of ward 8 of Evin prison, after his wife, Golrokh Ebrahimi Irai, was arrested to serve her six-year prison sentence, wrote a letter and announced her arrest as an illegal action and went on hunger strike.
This political prisoner later on, in an open letter mentioned the documented issues of violated rights in the process of arrest, interrogation, trial and sentencing, and then implementing this verdict, in his wife’s case.
Golrokh Ebrahimi Irai was transferred to Evin prison by the security forces without receiving written summons.
