Authorities Prevent Ayat Mehrali Baigloo From Having Parole

HRANA News Agency – Although the disciplinary committee of Tabriz Prison has accepted the parole request of Ayat Mehrali Baigloo, the prosecution office and the court continue to reject it.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the revolutionary court, court of appeal and prosecution office proceeding the case and reject the parole request of Ayat Mehrali Baigloo.
An informed source told HRANA that this stop in the processing of this case was an order from higher hierarchies, and in fact security authorities are preventing him from being released.
Need to be mentioned that Ayat Mehrali Baigloo has gone to furlough only once so far, and just after he started hunger strike. By the hunger strike he demanded to be transferred to Jolfa prison, but after 45 days and a furlough he was sent back to Tabriz prison again.
Ayat Mehrali Baigloo was arrested along with Mahmood Fazli, Shahram Radmehr, Latif Hasani and Behbood Gholizadeh in the last months of 2012.
His 9-years-in prison sentence was reduced to 8 years after the accumulation of the sentences.
According to HRANA’s reporters, these activists were charged with membership in central committee of GAMOH (a political party), actions against the national security and propaganda against the regime.
Mahmood Fazli was released after serving two years and 8 months from Tabriz prison, on September 21, 2015.
Ayat Mehrali Baigloo had been arrested already on memorial ceremony of professor Zehtabi, December 12, 2002 and birthday of Babak Khorramdin on July 2004 and was sentenced to prison. He is the former chief editor of student publication of Qopooz and graduated from Tarbiyat Modares university of Tehran in master of management science.
