Babak Asiaei Released From Evin Prison

HRANA New Agency – Babak Asiaei, cultural activist was released on Tuesday from the prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Babak Asiaei, cultural activist imprisoned in Evin prison, who was arrested along with four others, was released on 1st September.
This cultural activist was summoned to prison to serve his sentence in May 2014.
Babak Asiaei had been sentenced to four years imprisonment by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court. This sentence was changed on appeal stage to three years definitive imprisonment and after Eid al-Fitr pardon in 2014; it was reduced to a year and a half imprisonment.
His charges at the time of arrest and trial by the Revolutionary Court, were gathering and collusion against the national security and insulting the leadership.
He was arrested in 2012, along with Kaveh Rahimi, Arash Kamancheh, Parvin Zandi, and Behzad Asiaei.
