HRANA News Agency – Farhad Atlasi, 60-year-old prisoner in Evin prison suffered a heart attack following the deterioration on the way to the clinic of prison. The prisoner has been transferred to a hospital outside the prison, but his fate is unknown.
According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Farhad Atlasi, 60-year-old prisoner from Abadan, political scientist and a former official of Ministry of Foreign Affairs suffered a heart attack in Evin prison.
A source close to him by announcing the news to HRANA, said: “Mr. Atlasi felt badly after eating breakfast and suffered a heart attack on the way to the clinic of prison.”
The source added: “Then Mr. Atlasi was taken to a hospital out of prison.”
Mr. Atlasi was arrested in 2008 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison on charge of “collaborating with enemy states” in Branch 15 of the Revolutionary of Tehran headed by Judge Salvati.
He has MA in Political Science and is a former employee of the office of Prime Minister and also an expert of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is worth noting that the parole and furlough requests of Mr. Atlasi have been rejected so far.
