According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on Saturday 24 January, several police unites arrived at Konkh village – a rural district of Bander Lengeh- and set fire to barrels and tankers of fuel and confiscated several machinery from villagers on the excuse of fighting the fuel trafficking.

A local source told HRANA reporter: “these forces arrived by several vehicles and buses along with tens of motorcycles at Konkh intimidating the villagers by riding through it. After couple of minutes, two ambulances and fire engines also entered the village.”

This source continued: “the entrance and exit roads to the village got closed by the forces sent to Konkh which were part of special unites at Bandar Lengeh and set fire to all fuel barrels and tankers at this village. In addition, they confiscated all villagers’ machinery.”

It is important to mention that Konkh is one of the rural districts of Bandar Lengeh province at Hormozgan State. This village is located at Persian Gulf border and it is less than 20 Km from the sea line.

Human Right groups believe that the approach and attitude of security forces towards the border line citizens especially their attempts on damaging public goods and citizens’ belongings illegally is the violation of human rights and it is necessary for the wrongdoers to be prosecuted.
