Golrokh Irai Arrested and Transferred to Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Golrokh Irai, Arash Sadeghi’s wife was arrested by security forces. They broke the house door and transferred her to Evin prison in order to serve her sentence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Golrokh Irai was arrested by security forces, after they broke the door of the house, and transferred to Evin prison in order to serve her 6 years of imprisonment, even though she had not received a notification.

Sometimes ago, during the arrest of Navid Kamran, security forces used his personal cell phone and called Ms. Iraei and told her that they had her arrest order as well, and if she would not submit herself to prison, they would arrest her too. Navid Kamran was arrested at the court of Evin and transferred to quarantine ward of section 4 of Evin prison, in order to serve his 3 years in prison sentence.

Arash Sadeghi, Golrokh Irai, Navid Kamran and Behnam Moosivand were arrested last time on September 6, 2014 at their workplaces and released after some time on the bail.

According to informed sources, their detention was accompanied by acts of violence.

These activists’ trial was held by the Court of Appeal, Branch 54 in July 2015, while Golrokh Ebrahimi Irai could not attend due to an illness and according to the medical evidences, her trial should had been postponed, but judge Salvati refused to do it and the prosecutor’s representative, without her presence, read the indictment and her trial was conducted in her absentia.

The court order was announced in Branch 15 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court in their presence, on August 21, 2015. According to the verdict; Arash Sadeghi was sentenced to fifteen years, Golrokh Ebrahimi to six years, Navid Kamrani and Behnam Mousivand to 18 months of imprisonment. The sentences of Mr. Kamrani and Mr. Mousivand were reduced to 12 months in the court of appeal.

Arash Sadeghi, Behnam Mousivand and Navid Kamrani had a history of arrest and imprisonment before this case.

Behnam Mousivand also had been sentenced to two years imprisonment before which he has to serve now.

Arash Sadeghi was arrested on June 7, to endure 19 years imprisonment.
