Habib Sasanian Transferred to a Hospital in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – On February 4, 2017, Habib Sasanian, jailed poet from Ardabil in Tabriz prison was transferred to Sina hospital. Mr. Sasanian has been held on security charges in the prison since 8 months ago.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on February 4, 2017, Habib Sasanian, jailed poet from Ardabil in Tabriz prison was transferred to Sina hospital because of his “critical condition.”
Habib Sasanian was arrested along with 5 other Turkish activists on May 15, 2016. The head of judiciary of East Azerbaijan province called these 6 people members of the espionage group of Gamou in June.
HRANA had earlier reported that Mr. Sasanian is enduring the eighth month of his detention. Uncertainty and lack of trial for this poet is while he suffers from various illnesses and is being deprived of medical treatment.
Habib Sasanian was arrested along with Mehdi Javadzadeh, Hamid Saghafi, Babak Avand, Esmail Afkhami, and Younes Rahimi.
HRANA had earlier reported that Mr. Sasanian who suffers from very high blood pressure and eye pain, had passed out several times in prison but had been rescued with the help of his roommates.
The political prisoner in Tabriz prison had demanded medical attention several times, but each time, had been accused of simulation and threatened by being exiled to the special ward.
Mozafari claimed, “These people were gathering classified military and economical documents and provided them to enemies of the regime”.
HRANA had announced that the activists were arrested earlier due to “the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia”.
