Hadi Asgari in an Undecided Condition in the 6th Month of Detention

HRANA News Agency – Hadi Asgari, Christian convert in Evin prison, has been held in an undecided condition for a period of 5 months in this prison. While no trial has been held for him so far, his freedom on the bail also has been prevented.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Hadi Asghari, a Christian convert, was arrested due to attending a house church on August 26, 2016.

Mr. Asgari had been interrogated for three months in ward 209 of Evin Prison and has experienced the solitary confinement. He had been deprived of contacting his family and informing them of his situation for the first 47 days.

The Christian convert who has been transferred to ward 4 of Evin Prison, has been deprived of getting his personal belongings and clothes from his family.

Mr. Asgari has been spending his six months of detention in an undecided condition, and no trial has been held for him so far.

On the other hand, the prosecutor has rejected to change Mr. Asgari’s detention order to bail until his trial.

It should be noted that Mr. Asgari was arrested along with 4 other Christians and new converts, namely, Ramyyl Bet Tamarz, Amin Afshar Nadry, Mohammad Dehnavi and Amir Saman Dashti, in a private garden in Firoozkooh during worships. They were transferred to Evin prison on August 26, 2016.
