Iraj Mohammadi On Hunger Strike In Zahedan Prison

HRANA News Agency – Iraj Mohammadi, political prisoner in the central prison of Zahedan after influx of the prison security forces in the general ward of this prison and inspection, on 3rd October, was transferred to the quarantine of this prison and has gone on hunger strike there.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Iraj Mohammadi, political prisoner in the central prison of Zahedan after influx of the prison security forces in the general ward of this prison and inspection, on 3rd October, protested against this behavior and after being transferred to the quarantine of this prison went on hunger strike.
In the morning of 3rd October, security forces and prison guards of the central prison of Zahedan attacked the general ward after interrogating prisoners, especially political prisoners like Mohammad Amin Agooshi and Iraj Mohammadi and disrespected them and inspected the ward offensively.
After this inspection, Iraj Mohammadi protested against their behavior and was taken to the quarantine. The reports of this event indicated that the prison guards tried to take Mohammad Amin Agooshi to the quarantine as well but they were not able to do so, because of prisoners’ resistance.
Iraj Mohammadi, from Miandoab, imprisoned in the central prison of Zahedan, has been on hunger strike since 3rd October by the time of this report, and is held in Zahedan Central Prison’s quarantine.
Iraj Mohammadi along with Mohammad Amin Agooshi and Ahmad Poladkhani, was arrested on charge of espionage in May 2009 and finally each of them was sentenced to ten years imprisonment, in February 2012.
