Mehdi Farahi Shandiz Beaten and Transferred to Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – On December 5, Mehdi Farahi Shandiz political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison was sent to the court violently by prison authorities after refusing to go to the court. Mr. Farahi has been moved to solitary confinement after the court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on December 5, Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, political prisoner in hall 12 of ward 4 of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, was violently sent to the court by Darius Amirian, director of the prison director after refusing to go to the court.
A close source to the prisoner by confirming the news told HRANA’s reporters, “Mr. Farahi Shandiz after returning from the court has been moved to solitary confinement by the authorities.”
The political prisoner has been sentenced to a total of nine years in prison on charges of insulting the leader in various courts.
Now, Mr. Farahi despite having served his sentence, is in temporary custody for more than two months due to a new case with the charge of insulting the leader.
Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, in the last case, has been sentenced to three years in prison on charges of disturbing public order and insulting the supreme leader at Branch 28 of Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Moghiseh, in the verdict of May 26, 2015.
This prisoner was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment, on charge of insulting the Leader at Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Salvati, in 2015 and had previously been sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment on charge of disturbing public order by Judge Moghiseh in 2011.
He had told HRANA’s reporter regarding the first trial: “Two of the court doormen were used as witness and they told that I had broken a glass while chanting ‘Down with Khamenei’.”
Mehdi Farahi Shandiz was arrested in Park La’leh, in Tehran on 1st May 2009, in International Workers’ Day, and security officers searched and confiscated his documents, personal belongings and books and following this detention, he was sentenced to 9 months imprisonment that spend most of it in solitary confinements in ward 209 of Evin prison and was released in February 2009.
Mr. Shandiz, last time, after repeated attempts to get his confiscated stuff and documents from the Revolutionary Court such as; (passport, birth certificate, National ID card, computer, etc.), was prevented from entering the offices and when he resisted, they arrested him and in branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court on charges of insulting the leadership and disturbing public order, was sentenced to 3 years in prison. Although, his first 3 years imprisonment sentence, has been finished on 25th November 2014, but the new cases, prevented him from being released. This prisoner is currently in Rajai Shahr prison, in ward 10, enduring his imprisonment.
