Misagh Yazdannejad Transferred to Semnan Prison

HRANA News Agency – Misagh Yazdannejad, jailed student, was exiled to Semnan prison in the 9th year of his imprisonment. This political prisoner was transferred from Evin prison on 29th February and on 2nd March had a visit with his family during a cabin meeting.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), relatives of Mr. Yazdannejad have said that they were unaware of the reasons for his transfer to the prison of Semnan.

Misagh Yazdannejad had been transferred to ward 2-A of the Revolutionary Guards in Evin prison, from Hall 12 of Rajai Shahr prison on 26th October last year.

His relatives said that the sentence of 13 years imprisonment of this student, was rejected in the 9th year of his imprisonment by Branch 14 of the Supreme Court and then his case was referred to another same level branch, and he was tried again by Branch 26, on Tuesday 16th February.

Misagh Yazdan Nejad, student of translation at the University of Payam Noor, was arrested on 10th September 2007, and was transferred to ward 209 of Evin prison. He was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, presided by judge Salavati. This verdict was upheld by Branch 36 of the Appeal Court.

His charges have been announced as; attending the 19th anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners and holding relationship with People’s Mojahedin Organisation.

Mr. Yazdannejad, after finalizing the verdict, was transferred to Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, and was held there until November, last year.
