Neda Mostaghimi in Critical Health Condition in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Neda Mostaghimi, one of the supporters of Laleh Park Mothers and political prisoner, is experiencing a difficult condition in the women’s ward of Evin prison, due to deterioration on her asthma and respiratory problems.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), one of her relatives said about her latest status of this civil activist: “Neda Mostaghimi is still in the women’s ward of Evin prison and as she suffers from asthma, they are trying to get a punishment intolerance order.”

Neda Mostaghimi is one of the supporters of Laleh Park Mothers. She was arrested before noon on Monday 4th May, by the security forces at her workplace and was sent to Evin Prison to 3 years imprisonment.

Earlier, in December 2010, during the birthday celebration for , “Amir Arshad Tajmir” at the “Beheshte Zahra” cemetery, was arrested and charged with “gathering and colluding with the aim of acting against national security” and sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and was released on a bail of 100 million Tomans until execution.

Amir Arshad Tajmir killed in “Ashura” 2010 and during the protests against the presidential elections in 2009.

According to a person close to Neda Mostaghimi, the reasons for the charges against her were her activities to “support and solidarity” with the families of political prisoners and the families of victims of 2009 protests.

Park Laleh mothers was established during the events, following the presidential election in Iran in 2009, and its aim was; pursuing the condition of the children of mothers who were detained or were missing. A group of mothers of the political prisoners, who were executed in the 1980s, also work with this group.
