A Prisoner Died in Zahedan Prison because of Lack of Medical Care

HRANA News Agency – A young prisoner died in prison of Zahedan as a result of lack of medical care.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Abdul Wahed Gomshadzehi, 19, son of Din Mohammad, from Saravan in Sistan and Baluchestan province, with the critical condition of the scalp hematomas and due to lack of medical facilities and refrain from transferring to a hospital outside the prison, passed away on Monday, 18th May.
According to one of the HRANA’s sources, this prisoner got hematomas in the head because of torture and beatings at the police station in Saravan, and in recent months repeatedly requested to be sent to a hospital outside the prison for treatment that was met with Justice Officials’ rejection.
Zahedan prison authorities, and Sistan-Baluchistan prosecutor’s office, have not yet, given any statement or information about this incident.
