Prisoners Held in Solitary Confinements Despite Severe Injuries

HRANA News Agency – Following the collective dispute, a number of prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison are kept in inhumane conditions in the solitary confinements and are deprived of basic sanitary facilities since March 21, 2016. The prison officials illegally returned some of these prisoners to the previous hall where the conflict happened and allowed the prisoners to beat them.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on March 21, 2016, a collective conflict happened between the prisoners at ward 6 of hall 18 that ended in serious injuries for three prisoners and the death of another prisoner.
Following the collective dispute, a number of prisoners were kept in inhumane conditions in the solitary confinements since March 21, 2016 until April 28, 2016.  The prisoners had even been deprived of the possibility to take bath and had not changed their clothes for nearly a month.
Informed sources said to HRANA’s reporter that Mr. “Dariush Amiriyan” one of the senior officials in Rajai Shahr Karaj prison was responsible for the decision.
Sayed Jamal Mousavi is one of those prisoners who was transferred from solitary confinement to the former ward and was beaten by other prisoners until he fell to coma so that he has lost his power of speech.
Also Said Abbaspoor other prisoner from Islamshahr, had signs of stroke because of being beaten by the other prisoners.
It should be stressed that these prisoners have been returned to solitary confinement instead of being transferred to the clinic.
In addition Hossein Yahyaee and Sayed Hassan Hosseini, are two other prisoners who are kept in solitary confinements of ward 10, in this regard since March 21, 2016.
The two prisoners have been threatened by the prison officials that they would be transferred to the ward where the conflict occurred and would be killed.
Despite the families of prisoners’ complains and follow-up, none of the officials has taken the responsibility for this situation.
Mr. Kaeiminasab, the Office of the Inspector of Prisons, Jahangiri, Head of the Prisons organization, Mr. Mesgaryan, Head of the Security of Prisons Organization, Mr. Mardani Head of Rajai Shahr Prison and Mr. Aghaee, Head Inspector of Ward 6 are the officials who had been informed of the possibility of such an event before the dispute by the families of the prisoners however toon no action.
In the specific case of Mr. Kaeiminasab, the Office of the Inspector of Prisons, he has threatened following prisoners’ families that if they would refer to him once more their prisoners would be exiled to the remote cities.
