A Report about the Latest Status of Alireza Rasouli in Mahabad Prison
HRANA News Agency – Alireza Rasouli, political prisoner, despite the urgent need for medical treatment, has been deprived from having furlough.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Alireza Rasouli was arrested in August 2012, following attendance in a peaceful protest and was first transferred to Mahabad intelligent service and then to Mahabad prison.
He was charged with propaganda against the regime and acting against the national security by being a member of PJAK, in branch number 1 of the revolutionary court. However, the allegation of being a member of PJAK was dropped but for the rest of allegations he was convicted in accumulation of three years in prison. This sentence was confirmed in the court of appeal.
This political prisoner was exiled to Uremia prison on March 8, 2014 and transferred to Mahabad prison in April 2014.
According to HRANA, Alireza Rasouli is suffering from severe diseases like lung infection, knee problems and a type of Osteoporosis. But, prison authorities are refusing giving him medical furlough.
