HRANA News Agency – Manouchehr Mohammadali was arrested in August 2013 and was held in solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin prison for three months. He was later charged with “communicating with enemy states” in Branch 15 of Tehran Revolutionary Court by Judge Salvati and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Manouchehr Mohammadali, 42, was arrested by security guards at 5 pm on August 21, 2013 in Apadana Street in Tehran.
Mr. Mohammadali was interrogated for three months in solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin prison.
A close source to the family of this security prisoner told HRANA’s reporter: “For 3 months after being arrested his family had no news of him and he was not allowed to have contact with his family. Mr. Mohammadali had come back from France to Iran, because of his father’s illness and to look after him.”
Manouchehr Mohammadali is a French Translator and has lived in France for a long time. He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in Branch 15 of Tehran Revolutionary Court by Judge Salvati on charges of “communicating with enemy states”.
The verdict was upheld by Branch 36 of Court of Appeal of Tehran Province in 2015.
A close source to his family by telling that he has not been sent on furlough even after his father’s death said: “The family has appealed at least once and requested for a judicial review but the letter has not been delivered to its destination.”
Manouchehr Mohammadali is now in hall 2 of ward seven of Evin prison in poor conditions.
