HRANA News Agency – Saeid Hoseinzadeh Movahed, civil rights activist who had been arrested after showing up at the prosecutor’s office and had been taken to Evin prison, was transferred to hall 2 of ward 7 in Evin prison. Some sources have announced that he has started a hunger strike since being transferred to Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Saeid Hoseinzadeh Movahed was transferred to hall 2 of ward 7 in Evin prison.
Some sources have announced that Mr. Hoseinzadeh has gone on hunger strike because he had said before his arrest that “if they arrest me, I will go on hunger strike.” However, HRANA cannot confirm his hunger strike independently yet.
Saeid Hoseinzadeh was arrested when he showed up at Tehran prosecutor’s office and was transferred to the quarantine of ward 4 in Evin prison.
It should be reminded that Mr. Hoseinzadeh Movahed was sent to medical furlough in March after a hunger strike.
During his hunger strike, Amnesty International expressed their concern in a statement with the title “ill prisoner of conscience on hunger strike” addressing the “hunger strike of Saeed Husseinzadeh”, children’s rights activist and prisoner of Evin prison and “his critical condition”.
Saeed Husseinzadeh was arrested at his house by the Revolutionary Guards and was transferred to solitary confinement in ward 2-A of Evin Prison in 2014.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison on charge of propaganda against the regime and insulting the supreme leader in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Moghiseh. The verdict was upheld by Judge Zargar of Branch 36 of Appeal Court.
