Seven Prisoners Executed in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz

HRANA – With the addition of other prisoners who were executed at dawn Wednesday, November 26, in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz, the total number of people executed there on that day has risen to seven.

Iran Human Rights has identified the identities of six of these individuals as Hamid Yousefzahi, Ahmad Soltani, Majid Khakzad, Nasser Karbakhsh, Mina Sedoughi, and her husband, Farrokh Pourfarzi.

According to the report, Mina Sedoughi, 41, and her husband Farrokh Pourfarzi, 50, were residents of Mohammadshahr, Karaj, and parents of three children aged 7, 9, and 11. They were arrested one year and nine months ago on charges of carrying 65 kilograms of narcotics and were sentenced to death. The couple was taken to the gallows for the execution of their sentences without being granted a final visit with their family and children.
Iran Human Rights did not specify the identity of the seventh prisoner in its report.

Earlier, the Haal Vsh news outlet had reported on the execution of six prisoners in this prison.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been announced by prison officials or the relevant authorities.

According to HRANA’s statistics, in 2024, Adelabad Prison in Shiraz witnessed the execution of 92 inmates — an 88% increase compared to the previous year. This sharp rise places Adelabad as the second deadliest prison in Iran after Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
