HRANA News Agency – Sohail Babadi, political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr prison, who was sentenced to five years in prison on charge of blasphemy, recently has been sentenced to another seven years in prison, on charge of insulting the supreme leader, collusion and acts against the national security.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), branch number 28 of the revolutionary court with chief judge Moghiseh, sentenced him to seven years in prison, on charges of acts against the national security and insulting the supreme leader, on September 2.
Sohail Babadi was arrested in June 2012 for writing satirical pieces on the Facebook page known as “the campaign to remind the Shiites Imam Naghi”. Babadi, who was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment by the criminal court, and has another open case with charges of gathering and collusion and propaganda against the regime in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court, formerly in a letter which was publicized by HRANA, in September 2012, had announced about the beating and sexual and family allegations by his interrogators to put pressure on him to confess. The pressures on his family cause her wife to miscarry her baby at the 4th month of pregnancy. Babadi has written in his letter in this regard: “The interrogator came to me after hearing this news during our phone call, (my wife’s phone tapping by intelligence) expressing his happiness, said; definitely it was a bastard child that had this fate.”
