Soheil Babadi’s Case Sent To Branch 36 Of Appeals Court

HRANA News Agency – Soheil Babadi’s case, incarcerated at Rajaee Shahr Priosn of Karaj, has been referred to Branch 36 of the Appeals Court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Sohail Babadi, incarcerated in Rajai Shahr prison who suffers from a kidney infection and kidney stones in prison, has been denied to send to the hospital and to have access to treatment, and also due to finalization of the sentence, is not allowed to have medical furlough.
Mr. Babadi who was sentenced to 5 years in prison on the charge of blasphemy, recently was issued a verdict and sentenced to more seven years in prison on charges of assembly and collusion against national security and insulting the supreme leader.
The prisoner was arrested in June 2002 because of writing satirical pieces on the Facebook page “campaign of reminding Imam Naqi to the Shiites”.
He, previously in a letter which was published from the prison, had announced beatings and accusations of sex by the interrogators to put pressure on him to confess. He had said that as a result of this pressure and threats, his wife had a miscarriage while she was 4-month-pregnant.  Babadi in this regard says in his letter: “When the interrogator heard the news during our phone calls (my wife’s calls are tapped by the IRGC intelligence) came to me and expressed his delight saying that must have been the bastard child that suffered by this fate.”
