Six Citizens Arrested by Security Forces in Mahabad

HRANA – Saman Ghorbani, Kazem Azadeh, Naser Azarm, Akam Sheikheh, Hazhar Mohammadzadeh Aghdam, and Iman Mohammadzadeh, residents of Mahabad, were arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

Kurdpa has identified the arrestees as :

Saman Ghorbani from the village of Yal-Temer
Kazem Azadeh and Naser Azarm, two citizens from the Khalifan district
Akam Sheikheh, from the village of Qara Gheshlagh
Hazhar Mohammadzadeh Aghdam and Iman Mohammadzadeh, from the village of Khorkhoreh.

According to the report, Ghorbani, Sheikheh, Mohammadzadeh, and Mohammadzadeh Aghdam were arrested early this morning at their family homes without a judicial warrant and with the use of force. The arrests of Kazem Azadeh and Naser Azarm were carried out on yesterday, December 9, by security forces.

As of the time of this report’s publication, no information has been obtained regarding the reasons for their arrest, their place of detention, or the charges brought against them.

Arbitrary arrests, transferring detainees to undisclosed locations, and leaving families in the dark about the fate of their loved ones are routine practices of the Iranian regime’s security agencies, such as the Ministry of Intelligence and the IRGC Intelligence Unit. This pattern of behavior stands in clear violation of the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners, known as the Nelson Mandela Rules.

Two Citizens Arrested by Security Forces in Mahabad

HRANA – Keyvan Seyed-Ahmadi and Sirvan Shaveleh, residents of Mahabad, were arrested by security forces in this city and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to Krudpa, Mr. Seyed-Ahmadi was arrested on Tuesday, October 28, and Ms. Shaveleh in the early hours of Wednesday, October 29, both at their homes by security agents.

As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for their arrests, the charges against them, or their current whereabouts.

It is worth noting that Jalal Sadafi, Ms. Shaveleh’s husband, was arrested by security forces on December 15, 2024, and remains in Mahabad Prison under temporary detention without a verdict.

Mahabad: Ali Daneshi Arrested by Security Forces

HRANA News Agency – Today, Friday, May 10, Ali Daneshi, a resident of Mahabad, was arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, citing Kurdpa, Ali Daneshi was arrested in Mahabad without a judicial warrant. So far, no information has been obtained regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his whereabouts.

Ali Daneshi was previously arrested by security forces in Mahabad in July of last year and was later released on bail after a period of detention.

Two Prisoners Executed in Mahabad Prison

At dawn on Wednesday, December 18, the death sentences of two prisoners previously convicted in separate cases of murder were carried out in Mahabad Prison.

Kurdpa has identified the prisoners as “Rahim Barin and Jamal Naboureh, residents of Mahabad.”

The report states that Mr. Barin was arrested in 2005 on charges of killing a government official and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary. Mr. Naboureh was arrested about two years ago on murder charges and subsequently sentenced to death by a criminal court.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or other relevant institutions.

According to latest HRANA’s annual report over between October 10, 2023, and October 8, 2024, at least 811 individuals were executed by hanging in Iran, rising to 23.06% compared to the same period last year. Of these executions, four were carried out in public. Many of the defendants were denied a fair trial.

Two Residents of Mahabad Arrested by Security Forces

On December 17, Salar Shams Borhan and Abdollah Ghoveh, residents of Mahabad, were arrested by security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location, according to Kurdpa.

The arrests reportedly took place at their private residences without the presentation of judicial warrants.

These detentions come amid a wave of arrests in Mahabad, with several other residents also taken into custody in recent days.

As of now, no information has been released about the reasons for their arrests, their current whereabouts, or any charges filed against them.
