Afshin Baimani transferred to solitary confinement
HRANA News Agency – Afshin Baimani, political prisoner in Hall 12 of Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, was transferred to solitary confinement.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on 8th November, at 11 o’clock Afshin Baimani was transferred to solitary confinement in ward 5 of Rajai Shahr prison.
In this regard, one of the inmates told HRANA’s reporter: “At first, Afshin Baimany was asked to go upstairs as the head of ward 4, Reisi, want to see him, which was used as a pretext. Upon his presence, he was taken to the inspection office of the prison and then from there he was transferred to cell in ward 5 and so far officials have refused to send his warm clothes and heart medicines”.
Also, he added: “At 11.30, prison officials also asked Arjang Davoodi to go to the inspection office but due to his illness he refused”. Arjang Davoudi was supposed to go to the inspection office on the day after and he was then transferred to the cell, as well.
Afshin Baimani, Political Prisoner, was arrested on September 5, 2000 on charges of helping his brother, Mehdi Baimani, to escape and had been sentenced to death.
The court verdict was upheld on appeal court, but after 6 years his sentence commuted to life imprisonment.
Arjang Davoodi sentenced to extra 2 years in prison
HRANA News Agency – The two years in prison sentence of the political prisoner, Arjang Davoodi was confirmed without issuance of notification, while human rights organizations are concerned about death penalty in the other case that is still open.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Arjang Davoodi, senior political prisoner who is currently kept in ward number 4 of Rajaei Shahr prison of Karaj, noted by chance that the two years in prison sentence which was sent to branch number 36 of appeal court, is confirmed. HRANA News Agency – Arjang Davoodi’s case – A death row Political Prisoner -is set to be reviewed at the Branch 32 of Supreme Court on 07 October, 2014.
According to the HRANA report quoted from the Voice of America, 2 months ago, Mr Davoodi was sentenced to death at the Branch 1, Karaj Islamic Revolutionary Court on the charges of “Waging war against state by being a member of MKO” which he denied this allegation. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Arjang Davoodi was sentenced to death by branch number 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Karaj almost a month ago. Arjang Davoodi in bad health condition
HRANA News Agency – Arjang Davoodi is suffering from high blood sugar and lipid and has not received proper medical treatment yet.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Arjang Davoodi has been serving 10 years so far and was recently sentenced to death because of his activities inside the prison. He realized that he is suffering from high blood sugar and lipid while he was transferred to the clinic but because the devices at Rajai Shahr Prison are not working he has not received proper medical treatment yet.
