Maryam Kalangari Arrested to Serve Her Sentence

HRANA News Agency – Maryam Kalangari, 65, was arrested by the law-enforcement officers and transferred to the central prison of Arak on January 13. Mrs. Kalangari had already been sentenced to 5 months imprisonment by a court. Three other members of the Kalangari family, Bijan Kalangari, Mojtaba, and Meghdad Fouladi, were sentenced to three years imprisonment each. Kalangari’s family is among the families of survivors of the massacre of political prisoners in 1980s.

According to the report of Human Rights Activist News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Maryam Kalangari, 65, was arrested by the law-enforcement officers and transferred to the Central Prison of Arak on January 13, 2018. (more…)

3 Political Activists under Pro-longed Detention in Arak

HRANA News Agency – Bijan Kalngari, former political prisoner in the 1980s, along with two of his nephews who were kept at the intelligence office in Arak since July 26, 2017, were transferred to the Central Prison in Arak after almost two weeks of interrogations. These people, who are in a state of legal uncertainty, are still deprived of having a lawyer by the court’s refusal.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Bijan Kalngari, 60, former political prisoner, was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents in Arak on July 26, 2017. (more…)
