Death Sentences of 3 Sunni Prisoners Commuted by the Supreme Court

HRANA News Agency – After the “Black Monday” in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj when by transferring 37 Sunni prisoners under tight security measurements to solitary confinement, at least 20 of them were executed, reportedly the execution of three Sunni prisoners have been canceled and they were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the death sentences of three Sunni prisoners namely Taimor Naderizadeh, Farzad Shahnazari, Farshid Naseri have been rejected in the Supreme Court and after returning to branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, their sentences have been changed to 15 years in prison. A Report about the Condition of 51 Sunni Prisoners in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – After the “Black Monday” when 37 Sunni prisoner under high security conditions were transferred to solitary confinements and the execution of at least 20 of them, currently 51 Sunni prisoners with different sentences including death row ones in ward number 7 are serving under stress and daily fear.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), currently 51 Sunni prisoners are being kept in hall number 21 of ward number 7 of Rajaei Shahr prison. (more…)

11 Sunni Prisoners Are Still at the Risk of Execution

HRANA News Agency – After the execution of at least 20 Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, fears and concerns about the fate of other prisoners in the prison with the similar charges and cases have increased. Among the death row prisoners of “Tohid and Jahad” case, only two prisoners, including a juvenile offender have survived from recent mass-executions of Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj. Due to unprecedented and unexpected recent mass-executions of Sunni prisoners they spend their days in fear of a similar death along 50 Sunni prisoners in the prison, 9 of whom have also been sentenced to death.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), after mass-executions of Sunni prisoners at Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj on August 1 only 20 of the executions were officially confirmed. (more…)

5 Survivors of Sunni Prisoners’ Executions Returned to the Ward

HRANA News Agency – Five of at least 36 Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj who had been transferred to solitary confinements on this prison’s Black Monday, were taken back to Hall 7. According to Tehran prosecutor who had claimed that 20 prisoners had been executed, the number of prisoners who had not been executed must be more than this, but still there is no news about the rest of them.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Farshid Naseri, Barzan Nasraollahzade, Seyed Jamal Seyed Mousavi, Farzad Shahnazari, and Teymoor Naderzadeh, five Sunni prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison, were taken back to Hall 7 of the Revolutionary Guards in Rajai Shahr prison 7 days after the Black Monday.
