2 Prisoners Executed in Urmia Prison

HRANA News Agency – Two prisoners, who had been charged with murder, were hung in the Central Prison of Urmia. Two other prisoners with the same charges had been transferred to the solitary confinement for retaliation sentences, but managed to obtain a deadline and were returned to their ward.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), two prisoners, charged with murder, were hung in the Central Prison of Urmia on February 28, 2017.

Four prisoners, charged with murder, had been transferred to the solitary confinement, for retaliation sentence, but two of these prisoners managed to obtain a deadline and were returned to their ward.

The identity of these prisoners and their condition, which have been authenticated by HRANA, are as follows:

Ali Valizadeh / Executed

Afshin Shokati / Executed

Morteza Bagherzadeh / was returned to his ward by obtaining deadline

Anvar Ebrahimi / was returned to his ward by obtaining deadline
