3 Political Prisoners Address Recent Incidents in Khuzestan Province

HRANA News Agency – Heshmatullah Tabarzadi, Shahrokh Zamani and Khaled Hrdani, political prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison, wrote a letter to condemn the recent events in Khuzestan province and called Human Rights advocates to pay attention to this issue.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), three political prisoners, named Hashmatullah Tabarzadi, Shahrokh Zamani and Khaled Hardani, wrote a letter from prison, a copy of which has been given to HRANA, and condemned the repression oo Khuzestan citizens, and have said: “One of the Khoramshahr citizens, who had been oppressed by a governmental institution, has set himself in fire and following this sad incident, Ahvazi people protested to support this Khoramshahri kiosk holder’s rights and condemning agents who dealt with this issue. But these peaceful protests were suppressed, hundreds were injured and arrested, and one of our compatriots died.”
These prisoners added in their letter: “While we condemn this inhuman and barbaric act, we invite all human rights advocates, particularly our liberal and aware compatriots, to support the protestors’ demands and do not allow the regime to be able to follow the policy of (Divide and Rule) and keep all ethnics, unions and social classes separate from each other and every day suppress them with a trick.”
It should be noted that on Tuesday 16th March, during the football match between Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia and Foolad from Khuzestan, following violence which occurred hundreds of spectators were arrested.
A local source told HRANA: “At first, police forces arrested a number of participants who had worn dishdasha (kind of Arabic custom). This action angered the people and it led to clashes with police forces, and two police cars were set on fire.”
Regarding these arrests, Rahman Moosavi, deputy Community Police told: “A number of spectators of the match between Al-Helal and Foolad were arrested after the match and were released immediately after giving a written undertaking.”
Some published Photo reports and attendances’ statements suggested that football fans had protested against the events that had caused Younes Asakereh set himself in fire and this issue also had been effective in police clash with football fans.
Also some unconfirmed reports stated that a 16-year-old spectator called “Yasser Alshalibavy”, form Shadegan city has been killed however, this news has not been approved by HRANA yet.
