HRANA News Agency – Alirzea Rasouli, political prisoner, is back to the public ward of Mahabad prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Alireza Rasouli, who had broken his hunger strike after ignorance of authorities, while facing critical health condition and requests by his friends, was transferred to the public ward.
Alireza Rasouli started his hunger strike in protest to rejection to his requests for being transferred to a hospital after progression of his illness. On Tuesday June 9 after 11 days, summoned to prison’s principal office and after three hours interrogation by intelligence service forces, was transferred to solitary confinement of Mahabad prison.
One of HRANA’s trusted sources and a close source to this political prisoner, had previously reported that, “Alireza is suffering from an unknown disease of depreciation and loss of bone tissue, which is spreading to other parts of his body. The Uremia prison’s physician, after analyzing the MRI result has said he was wondering how he could still walk on his feet, and as a person who had lived with Alireza, I can tell his sprite is the only thing that helps him to continue”.
Requests regarding his transfer to hospital and medical furlough had no answer, and that is while his illness is continuously advancing.
The prison authorities of Mahabad, not only has rejected the furlough and transfer requests, but has refused to give him the legal and allowable stuff like blankets and medical shoes that was provided by his family. Prison principal made the condition of breaking the hunger strike for giving those items.
According to HRANA’s sources, this prisoner is suffering from serious health problems like lug infection, knee problem and bone tissue depreciation diseases that is spreading to other parts of the body. In contrast, after two years, the prison authorities refused to give any furlough to this prisoner or send him to hospital.
Alireza Rasouli was arrested on April 2, 2012, following a peaceful protest and transferred him to intelligence service of Mahabad detention and then Mahabad prison. He was charged with propaganda and acts against the national security by cooperating and advocacy of PJAK party in branch number one of the revolutionary court. He plead not guilty on advocacy and cooperating with PJAK, but was sentenced to three years and half in prison for the rest of charges. This sentence was confirmed in appeal court.
This political prisoner was exiled to Uremia prison on April 6, 2013 and transferred back to Mahabad prison in April 2014.
