Mostafa Azizi Will Be Tried On September 19th

HRANA News Agency – The trial of imprisoned writer and artist, Mostafa Azizi, will be held on 19th September at the stage of appeal.
According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the son of Mr. Azizi by announcing this news, has wrote that: “The appeal trial for my father, Mostafa Azizi who is held in Evin prison, is going to be held on 19th September at 10.00 am in Tehran.”
This prisoner’s case had been sent to Branch 54 of the Court of Appeal in the Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Pourarab, in August.
Mr. Azizi was tried by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided by Judge Salvati, on charges of “Gathering and collusion against national security”, “Propaganda against the regime” and “Insulting the leadership” and was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.
Mostafa Azizi, 53, is the author of the story collection “I am Raymond Carver”, and Iranian television producer, who had immigrated to Canada since 2010. He was arrested shortly after his return to Iran, on 1st February.
Mr. Azizi was held in ward 2A in Evin prison, where is under the Iranian Revolutionary Guards control, for the first month of his detention, and now he is in ward 8 of this prison.
