HRANA – Mr. Kamran Asa whose brother, Kianoosh, was martyred last year during the Green Movement’s peaceful demonstration on June 15, 2009, was arrested at around midnight on Monday, May 31st, by Kermanshah Intelligence Ministry agents.

According to Kalameh, the day after Mr. Asa’s sudden arrest, five Intelligence Ministry agents arrived at the family’s residence and confiscated some of his personal belongings. His bereaved mother’s tears were rebuked by the agents who barked “it is these tears of yours that agitate Kamran!!” and in response to the family’s repeated questions,  they said “we are taking Kamran so he can be reformed.”

At this time, Kamran’s family, especially his mom, are suffering emotionally and terribly worried as they have no information about where he’s being held.

This marks the second time Kamran Asa has been detained by the authorities. He was initially arrested on December 7, 2009, at the University of Science & Industry during a memorial service for his deceased brother Kianoosh who was a Young Genius at the university. He was released two months later after posting bail.
